Posted on 19 July 2017
A lot can happen in one day and even more can change over the course of one year - especially so when it comes to the world of skincare. So, what’s new in skin trends these days? Lots. It seems as though there’s something new on the market every day. As far as trends go - nutrient-packed beauty built for active lifestyles and boutique brands are all the rage. Anti-aging products from these industries are on the rise and we’re all looking for the next superhero product that will bring our skin that dreamy glow. Here are 4 hot skincare trends that will do just that:
1. Superfood-infused skincare products
Everyone is talking about superfood-infused skincare for its seemingly endless benefits for every skin type. The happening product ingredients range from green tea, probiotics, kale, and kelp to turmeric, coconut oil and more. We all know what such ingredients can do for our guts so why not give them a try topically? Packed into toners, face washes, moisturizers, and every other product imaginable. They are shielding, moisturizing, rejuvenating and naturally exfoliating.
2. Hyaluronic Acid
A lot of us have been hearing the talk about this anti-aging powerhouse these days. Similar to its naturally-occurring sister, collagen, the skin care ingredient has quickly become a major obsession among beauty gurus. It’s extremely effective in treating common skin conditions. A go-to enhancer when we want a top-notch glow and lightly moisturizing. The buzzy ingredient is slowly but surely becoming more and more mainstream.
There is no longer just a single kind of mask out there. Today there are DIY masks, masks for exfoliating, toning, moisturizing, brightening and more. Rumor has it that masking is one of Google’s top-searched beauty terms, as of late. Apparently we can thank Japan for this very happening trend of wearing beauty masks. Regardless of where the new skincare favorite came from, we’re happy about it and are keeping our fingers crossed that it is here to stay.
4. Retinoids and Retinols
A friend to hyaluronic acid, these products are quickly gaining popularity. For twenty-somethings and older, the topical ingredient is seriously beneficial for exfoliating and rejuvenating skin. By helping to turn over skin cells faster than usual it is a great way to treat fine lines, sun damage, dark spots, acne, acne scars, and wrinkles! Two major focuses we have are anti-acne and anti-aging. These products cover both. It’s no wonder that we’re all chasing after retinoids and retinols to help us out.
