Posted on 24 June 2020
Are under-eye dark circles a serious health problem? Not really, but many people feel that dark circles under their eyes make them look sleepy, older, or unhealthy.
There are a number of ways people can help get to get rid of or lessen the look of, dark circles under their eyes. Although not all of these treatments are permanent, with maintenance and consistency they will help lessen the appearance of dark circles.
Although dark circles are typically caused by fatigue, some other causes are:
- Contact sensitivities
- Scratching or rubbing eyes
The most straight forward ‘cure’ is this.... get 8 hours of sleep.
Nothing keeps under eye dark circles away like a full 8 hours’ of sleep. Get a good night’s rest – every night – and enjoy reduced under-eye dark circles and bags. Sometimes increased blood vessels can darken the area under your eyes and cold compress can cause the blood vessels to tighten. Another trick is tea bags - many teas like green tea have the extra benefit of antioxidants, which have anti-inflammatory properties that help calm strained capillaries in your under-eye area.
