Skincare Products To Grow In Your Own Garden

If you love gardening, you may already be growing some plants and herbs that would benefit your skin and not even know it! In fact, many tea herbs or ones you add to your food for flavor or as a garnish have benefits to help keep your skin healthy, and are easy to grow! See below for a list!
We love it for its rich taste in foods, but thyme is also great for fighting bacteria and viruses within your pores. Add it as a part of your skin or scalp cleansing, or infuse it in honey and hot water for a skin-clearing tea, or as a steam inhalant.
Lavender is known for its calming effects - both mind and skin! It can help soothe irritated or damaged skin and works great to fight acne. When used as an oil, it can also help unclog your pores. You can mix it with coconut oil and apply it after a good face wash.
You may have heard of its antiviral effects, especially with the pandemic, but elderberry is great for your skin, too (for similar reasons). These flowers are rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids that help promote smooth, acne-free, and youthful skin. We recommend infusing your favorite body or facial oil with elderberry flowers. Just let it sit for a few weeks, strain the oil, and apply to give your skin for a healthful glow!
Sage is a powerful astringent (or tightening ingredient) that doesn’t dry out your skin as most over-the-counter products do. It helps decrease oil production and other signs of acne. The herb contains calcium and vitamin A which help with cell regeneration. It’s also great for healing and calming irritated skin. You can add it to your favorite moisturizer or even bathe in it! Remember, your skin is your largest organ and deserves a lot of TLC :).
