Skin Secrets From Bachelor and Bachelorette Contestants

Skin Secrets From Bachelor and Bachelorette Contestants

They may look beautiful on screen, but Bachelor Nation contestants work to keep their skin clean, clear and healthy, just like everyone else.

Hannah Brown, beauty queen turned Bachelorette and Dancing With the Stars winner, admitted to dealing with severe acne when she was filming The Bachelorette. Stars in Bachelor Nation always seem to look perfect, but only the Bachelor or Bachelorette gets help with makeup. The hopefuls must take care of their own face and makeup. Here are a few of their best tips to look your best.

Use Moisturizer

Multiple contestants on The Bachelor recommend a moisturizer to keep skin soft and supple. Pairing a good moisturizer with an SPF protects the face against the sun’s harsh rays, even when you’re inside. Moisturizers help your skin maintain balance, preventing the skin from getting too oily or too dry, which can cause blemishes and acne.

Concealer Is Your Friend

Onyeka Ehie recommends a good concealer to help you when you haven’t gotten enough sleep. Use concealer after you apply your foundation because you want to avoid rubbing the concealer around. It’s meant to be used on specific areas of your face.

Take Care of Your Skin

You can’t expect to wake up every day looking great without taking care of your skin. It's important to remove makeup with a good cleanser at the end of the day to prevent clogged pores and other issues. Follow up with a toner to rid any excess dirt and grime your cleanser missed, and finish with a moisturizer to replenish and rehydrate while you sleep. The more healthy your skin, the less makeup you'll need to use. Did you know that sheets and pillowcases can suck moisture out of your skin? Be gentle to your face, especially if you have pimples or acne. Use our 3 Steps to Happy Skin quiz to find the best starting point for your skin type.

Skincare Isn’t Only For Women

Even though most men don’t use makeup, that doesn’t mean they can ignore their skin. Bachelor Nation men also have to take care of their faces. Mike Johnson admits to getting facials, and Jordan Kimball uses a moisturizing spray regularly. And the sun doesn’t discriminate - UV can be equally damaging to men and women, so don’t skimp on sun protection and rejuvenation...The sun will age you faster than you realize.

Happy skin needs three steps, cleansing, nourishing and hydrating. Shop for the right products for your skin type to have healthy, youthful skin now and in the future.
